The Creative lens : M.Zuiko 14-42mm Mark II
I believe, many of you who bought your new Olympus Mirrorless series are bundled a long with this kit lens (unless you bought the body only). And of course, many of you also are very materialistic and couldn't wait to get yourself a sharper lens as replacement...mainly the typical prime lens e.g. M.Zuiko 17mm 1.8...M.Zuiko 45mm 1.8...Lumix 20mm 1.7...and the list goes on and on. But for the less fortunate, you may need to stick around with this lens for quite some times....but lets not turn down by this little performer.
To me, I've owns several 'sharp' lens and I call this little guy, The Creative Lens. Why creative? It's because of the characteristic of this lens that giving good sharpness in the center and middle zone of the frame while at the same time softer at the edge of the frame. It's not hard to tackle this lens' behavior anyway...just make sure the subject we wanna shoot doesn't frame at too far corner and things will be alright :) In fact, the soft corner result has help a lot by render a blurrier bokeh outcome rather than harsh one.
Below are some quick simple samples taken using this lens on E-PL5, cheers!
